Versus is a conceptual sequel and final chapter of Raymond V. Raymond — an album in which Usher uses music to explore the dichotomies of his life as a newly single man/father.
The lead single from the new set is “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” featuring Pitbull and is produced by the inimitable Max Martin — who has worked with some of the top pop artists in the world including P!nk, Katy Perry and Britney Spears. “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” will be delivered to radio stations world-wide this coming Monday morning. Shortly after, “Hot Tottie” produced by the hitmaker Polow, will be delivered to radio on August 9th.
Released late spring of 2010, Raymond V. Raymond reclaimed Usher‘s dominance on the charts, debuting at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums and R&B Albums charts spawning five hit singles: “Papers,” “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home),” “Lil Freak” featuring Nikki Minaj, “There Goes My Baby“ and the pervasive summer smash, “OMG” featuringwill.i.am.Additionally, Raymond V. Raymond held the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s R&B Album chart for seven weeks and since has sold over six million tracks and ringtones combined.
Usher‘s ninth No. 1 single, “OMG,” has had over 3 million tracks and ringtones to date and held the No. 1 spot on the Hot 100 Singles chart for four weeks in a row. The song hit No. 1 on the Nielsen RingScan chart and continues to chart in the Top 10 for its tenth consecutive week. “OMG” enjoyed international success as well, reachingNo. 1 on the iTunes chart in both the UK and Australia. Usher‘s world domination extended through Canada (No. 1 airplay & Gold album), Ireland (No. 1), New Zealand (No. 1 airplay) and Sweden (Top 10 CHR).
This July, Usher will perform highly anticipated concerts in Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Philippines, Beijing and Macau. On July 11th, at Wukesong Arena in Beijing, Usher will be joined by Asia’s top R&B star Wang Leehom for a joint performance.

Amy Winehouse has allegedly asked R n B star Usher if he would consider collaborating with her.The Back To Black singer, who is currently working on her eagerly awaited third LP reportedly phoned Usher to ask him to duet with her on a new track.
A source told the Daily Star:“Amy personally called Usher after asking her people to get his number. He was shocked to hear some Cockney girl chatting away but finally believed it was Amy when she sang for him.”

The insider added: “Amy wants to release a song with him and her god-daughter Dionne Broomfield is desperate for the pair to perform together.”
It is unclear whether the OMG singer, who is currently number 1 in the US album chart with new LP Raymond Vs. Raymond will take Amy up on her offer.
Does the guest mentor have a major impact on the quality of “Idol” performances during any given week? Well, if you felt like Tuesday’s soul and R&B night showed a little more oomph than the sleepy pseudo-themes of the first couple of shows, then hats off to Usher. (Sunglasses are another matter).
Speaking to reporters after the show (an “Idol” first!), the contestants simply gushed over the hit-maker’s ability to hone in on individual strengths and weaknesses. “I think he really tailored every comment and advice for each one of us,” said “Big Mike” Lynch, who sang India.Arie’s “Ready for Love.” “You could tell he did his homework on us. That was crazy.”
Andrew Garcia had a similar experience on his redemption night. “He just told me that I need to do my acoustic and not focus on what the judges are gonna say or what anybody is thinking — just to do what I do,” said the Moreno Valley native who sang Chris Brown’s “Forever.” “And he liked it! That was crazy coming from Usher.”
Lee Dewyze added that, in his case, Usher simply “nailed it on the head.” “He said to me, ‘The biggest problem is your confidence,’” Lee recalled. “And I was, like, ‘How the hell did you know that?’”

Tim Urban had a whole secret language going on with the R&B chart-topper. “Look in my face, Usher man!” Tim joked, apparently still delirious from a night of uncontrollable laughter. Tim’s roommate Casey James, naturally, had to egg him on, “Marry this fool!”
As for the girls, you could say they were a little more awestruck, not just by Usher’s undeniable star quality, but by his demeanor and professionalism. “He’s an intelligent guy,” said Crystal Bowersox. “He’s been in the business a long time and is pretty insightful. He’s a true musician, not just pop star material. And the fact that he’s not afraid to hurt your feelings, that’s a really good quality for someone to have — to give the straight, blunt, honest truth.“
Though it’s exactly that brutal honesty that scared the bejeezus out of Katie Stevens. “When he said I didn’t gain any extra points because we met when I was 10, I thought, ‘Oh no, he’s gonna rip me to shreds,’ ” she said after the show. “But then he turned out to be so sweet. It’s really awesome when you have [a mentor] that wants you to succeed so badly, that they’re there to give any help they can.”

Usher is single again and on the prowl, and the swaggering singer is on the hunt in his next video. According Nicki Minaj, Usher’s“Lil Freak” clip should help put him back in the spotlight with the ladies.
“The video is freaky,” Nicki, who delivers a guest rap on the track, told MTV News. “And it’s a great concept, a great story line.” The Young Money femcee described the premise as being similar to the “Saw” movies.
“It felt just like one of the sequels to ‘Saw,’” she said. “It was dope.”
In those flicks, the main character, rather than punish his victims by death, gives them a number of challenges — a quick listen to “Lil Freak,” where Usher sings about ladies going out to find other ladies for him, and you’ll see understand the similarities.
The clip will be the second video from the singer’s upcoming Raymond V. Raymond, his sixth studio album, due March 30.
