Usher gave an interview for US Magazine this week. Here is it !
-How do you get ready for a night out ?
-”I take a bath and it’s always good to brush your teeth! I do have a certain way to get my hair looking right. And of course I put on some ‘smell good.’ The greatest tool of seduction is to have the right scent so If I’m not wearing Usher He when I’m getting dressed, I’m concocting and experimenting with new scents for my fragrance line. I like to test market new blends while developing new scents for a real reaction.”
-Can you offer tips on picking the perfect scent for a man ?
-”Some men like a more aggressive fragrance but to each his own !” (He also says his most popular scent, “Usher HE”, is the perfect Father’s Day gift for any dad.)
-How do you prepfor a live performance ?
-”I usually play a mix on loop for the entire time that I’m getting ready. I also do a series of stretching exercises – about 50 crunches and 20 pushups. When I’m finally dressed and ready, I walk out of the dressing room door and then outside my door, my entire team is there to meet me. We get in a circle and I say a prayer to cover everyone in and out of the circle. Then go to the stage to give my fans the great show that they came to see.”
-How do you stay in shape when you’re not on the road ?
-”Have you ever been around 2 toddlers ?”
-What are your plans for the summer ?
-”I have a very busy summer ahead. I’m looking forward to attending my foundation’s, the Usher’s New Look Foundation, World Leadership Conference and Awards which is in July, right after I perform at the Essence Music Festival. Then I’m back in the studio working on my next project.”

-”Je prend une douche, et il est toujours bon de se laver les dents ! J’ai une certaine façon de rendre bien mes cheveux. Et bien sûr, je met certaines “bonnes odeurs”. Le plus grand outil de séduction est d’avoir le bon parfum alors si je ne met pas Usher He quand je suis en train de m’habiller, je concocte et expérimente de nouveaux parfums pour ma ligne de parfums. J’aime tester des mélanges de nouveaux marchés tout en développant de nouveaux parfums pour une véritable réaction.”
-Pouvez-vous donner des conseils pour trouver le parfum parfait pour un homme ?
-”Quelques hommes aiment les parfums plus agressifs, mais à chacun ses goûts !” (Il a aussi dit que son plus populaire parfum “Usher HE” est le parfait cadeau de la fête des pères pour n’importe quel père.)
-Comment vous préparez-vous pour une performance en live ?
-”Je joue habituellement un mélange sur l’ensemble pendant toute la durée qu’il me faut pour être prêt. Je fais aussi une série d’exercices d’étirement – environ 50 redressements assis et 20 pompes. Quand je suis enfin habillé et prêt, je sors des vestiaires, et ensuite en dehors, mon équipe toute entière est là pour me rencontrer. Nous formons un cercle et je fais une prière pour préserver tout le monde dans et en dehors du cercle. Ensuite, je fais sur la scène pour donner à mes fans le grand spectable qu’ils venaient voir.”
-Comment pouvez-vous rester en forme lorsque vous n’êtes pas sur la route ?
-”N’avez vous jamais été près de 2 bambins ?”
-Quels sont vos projets pour l’été ?
-”J’ai un été très chargé à venir. Je suis impatient d’assister à la cérémonie de ma fondation, Usher New Look, World Leadership Conference et les Awards qui sont en Juillet, juste après avoir joué à l’Essence Music Festival. Ensuite, je serais de retour dans le studio à travailler sur mon prochain projet.”
